Hi everyone, I have posted a new blog post Bidding vs. Paid..And The Debate Rages On… I hope this article can help to find some common ground between the Bidding and Paid Directory owners and change some of the discourse that is starting to prevail on DP. Hopefully some owners will agree with my assessment and help me in changing the rhetoric and find some ways for us all to work together to help clean up the industry! Anyway! Hope someone finds this article worth while! Lance
That was a great post!! I have many directories and I have a couple of bidding directories. I can't believe well respected the sites are so far in Google!! And I agree with one thing, that really stinks when you see an owner offering double your bid amount and such! That just takes the credibility out of the site to me because people paid real money for the real bids and usually it was to get on the homepage and then someone for 1/2 price bumps them off! That would make me very mad!! Classified as Gambling!! NO WAY!!
Thanks for the comments! But remember my point is that "doubling a bid" on a bidding directory is really not that different than some of the "specials" offered on the paid directories. Both practices probably need to be discussed in a civil manner among owners from both sides... Lance
I hope the main offenders of the anti bid directories campaign read this and give there thoughts. Antoher quality post, keep it up lance
sure... I am always open to that.. ooppss.. your post is gone Cent... but you are welcome to post any comments positive or negative about my blog. It is fine with me.
ummm.. I am not sure which poll you are talking about, but I would like to keep this thread as on topic as possible... but yes.. which poll? Lance
Pardon me The one about bid directory credibility. I've read your blog, Its not enough for me, I was hoping for more information about your strategy However, i'll defer to others to either explain why, or , continue to ignore bid directories, or Prove you right
Perhaps I will elaborate in the near future. I do agree it is not as in depth as I would like it. However, what I am hoping it will do is help to change the "us vs them rhetoric" that is going on. I don't see any real productive dialogue going on. Just finger pointing. I do appreciate your comments and will definately work on some follow ups to go more in depth. When I look at the credibility poll is see it split down the middle if not slightly in favor of them being credible. I don't see a clear consensus. That is why I think productive discourse needs to be introduced. The "tone" of the debates needs to be changed. Anyway, these are just my opinions... I could be wrong.. PS: I am not looking to be proved wrong or right. I just think that the real "enemy" is not the two different directories, it's the "bad apples"... Lance
