I have a new blog (https://www.bonkersabouttech.com), how do I drive some initial traffic to it please?
There are numerous ways to drive traffic to your new blog. You need to determine your ad budget. That's important because there are paid traffic sources and free traffic sources. Free traffic: Create content on your blog and post it. Immediately start a Face Book fan page and once you post content on your blog then immediately post that link on your FB page. Most free methods usually take a while to build up traffic. Another free source of traffic is YouTube. You could create one or more videos on YouTube pointing back to your website to drive traffic. Again this may take time to see results. There are almost countless paid traffic sources. This source will depend on how much you want to spend and how much you can afford to spend. Running Google ads tied to keyword (SEO) is one method. Running Face Book ads is another method. Buying solo ads is a third method. It all depends on your budget, sense of urgency, and amount of time you have to commit to growing your business. Good luck. Dan
Thank you very much for the advice. I think I will go with the free option for now. I have Facebook , Twitter and Google Plus fan pages so I will continue to post to those. I've also heard that it can take a while to get going and about 6 months for Google to properly index you, so I guess I'll have to be very patient Thanks again .
Try to create social media ccount and grow them until you have enough peoples engaged with your niche. Try to create facebook groups and things like that and keep people engaged there.
Thank you for your help. What is the best way to grow the number of Facebook likes? I have already invited all my friends to like the page ? Thanks in advance .
As I have always said, get people to your site by promoting it. One of the mistakes I made when I made a site back in the day was just let it sit there, thinking people will come and see it. Of course I was naive then. You have to do the work--promotion, talking to people, etc. so that your blog would be known.
Make sure the onsite SEO is in place, find your big keywords and use them as anchor text in different sources this includes social media as well. A small paid traffic always helps in the beginning as well. New domains take some time, make sure you have the domain for more than two years, one of the ranking factors that Google puts a bit more value on the new upgrade. and everything @unlimitedoptions4us said
