Okay so I made a new blog, and I need idea on how to get it traffic. I'm trying to appeal to a teenage audience, any idea how/where I should advertise?
Submit your links to social bookmarking sites. Then you can also do some link exchange. This helped me get initial traffic when I was blogging. Make sure you regularly update your site with quality content, this will get some returning visitors.
You did the first step of attracting more traffic correctly. Yes!!! The first and foremost source is from DP forums. You'll get organic traffic from DP. More over, try to gather more friends in Facebook and ask them to view your blog. Next step is to add feed subscription form to gather the audience and send them update frequently through feedburner. So try to include feedburner subscription form immediately. I do also want to subscribe your blog.
The major social sites & forums that your teenage audience would visit. you could twitter/facebook etc that you have a weekly/monthly newsletter they can opt-in to free just visit your blog...may help a bit of viral marketing too!
Social media site can help in getting traffic to ur site but first need to make strong profile than you can take advantage from it.
Start off with social bookmarking. Don't over do it! You should do anywhere from ten to fifteen social bookmarks a day and only one to three on others. Mixing it up will make it appear to Google that you are not a spammer. Spamming your site will only cause it to become sand boxed (invisible). Myspace, Twitter, Facebook, Bebo, And Hi Five should also be part of your marketing arsenal. Make sure that you use a picture of someone that your audience can relate to. You can find plenty at free stock photo sites.
Hey Wreckadge, If there's one thing that's universal to all audiences on the Internet, it's search. Teens use that as much as anybody because it's simply necessary. If you have a blog, article marketing really is a great choice in terms of promoting it, and you have a built in audience who will be searching for the subjects you're talking about. A blog naturally produces a steady stream of material for article marketing which can be optimized and used to attract already-interested readers by getting them to read the blog. At Content Crooner we even integrate the article marketing with live Twitter and RSS notifications, so people can follow you that way. For blogs especially I think it's not only the best but the most natural way of pulling in readers.
try CPM advertising! you can get audience regionally. Pay little and get a lot of impressions across the internet and reach your audience! Check out http://adoori.com/advertiser/pop-under Get your site more exposure!
social marketing would bring you some instant traffic also backlinks. you should try that. But content is always the key for a successful website.
Twitter works great to drive traffic to my blog. Teenagers are using social media, and especially Facebook. I would be active on Facebook, make friends, share stuff, and create a fan page. When it comes to Twitter, I recommend that you use TweetAdder or a similar service, works great to get targeted followers.
The real question is, do you naturally appeal to teenagers? I don't know if it's just me, but trying to pretend to be something you are not is hard, and often you'll quit before you ever truly get started. Do something your passionate about. Don't just come up with a blog that targets a community that might make you money. Granted, it is possible to do this, but for most it doesn't work. Go out there and start a blog and be yourself. Tailor it towards a topic you are interested in, others will follow.
You can submit your blog to blog directories. Optimize your blog and build back links so that it ranks high in the search engine result. You can write article and pressrelease and use your blog in the resource box area.
