New Blog Got 15K uniques/40K pages first month, private ad time?

Im helping a female friend of mine who isn't too savy with monetizing her blog. I built it for her and she is the writer. I really think she has a good niche and some targeted advertisers would want to advertise on here and 15K uniques and 40K page views in month 1 is tremendous, i suppose word of mouth is big in gossip, anyways here are here stats, what do you think can be done as far private advertising and CPM for the ads, I sent her an article about how perez hilton does $54K/day in ad revenue from 196M page views/month

There are quite a few CPM networks out there. You should split test and see which ones give the best returns. Start with Adsense, try textlinkads, maybe chitika, azoogle... there are lots more. Havent seen the site yet, so can't hypothesize which will work best.

I set her up with a bunch of affiliate ads, see the thing is its a blog about real people, and theres only 1 other site in this niche and it was sold in the past year for between $1-$10 million according to the article and that was thedirty.com, and it only avgs 85K unique month/ but around 10M page views. The dirty runs around 15 ads on each apge so with $1 CPM per ad thats $15 per 1000 impression, 10M impression is $150K/month, staggering numbers

in march he created it, by october he'd sold it for between 1 and 10 million, thats what made this girl wanna start this site, this kind of stuff is real popular in america

ok will try, but at what point do you think she should seek out private advertising, i dont know much about the whole advertising world of blogs, im just a site builder haha

 

She is only doing a few hundred hits a day? Not many of us private advertisers would be interested.

She has to get it up to at least a couple of thousand a day, if not more, to be appealing.

Contact advertising networks. But many of them won't bother with a small site.
