Hey guys I just got my blog back up after loosing everything. If you guys could leave me some feedback to help me improve it that'd be excellent. Far from perfect.

Not bad. Not the usual wordpuss bloat.

If I could put forth one tip, I would suggest that you have someone go over the text of your site. There are a number of grammatical errors that should be fixed, especially if you are looking to sell your services to others. I know this is just your blog, but remember, your blog is an online representation of yourself. Grammatical an spelling errors will reflect poorly on you.

    Example:

    This should be:

Otherwise, I like the color scheme; it's somehow relaxing. I'm not much of a LAMP guy, and it seems like the content is focused in that world, rather than design in general.

Good job, and I look forward to seeing how the site evolves.

Awww yes i keep forgetting to rewrite the about page. I wrote that up real quick mostly to fill in the page. Ill fix it when i get home, thanks!

Ahh yeah I'm really not a sever guy either, but its what ive been dealing with lately so i figured i'd document it. In the future there will be more front-end/design posts

So far so good I must say. But being a web designer I cannot help but dwell more on your About Us page. Apart from fixing your mistakes you might want to make it...well...a little more flashy. Some of the best About pages I've seen were on blogs about web and visual design so you have to impress there, as this is your forte. Here are a few examples of what I'm talking about:

    http://www.iamdan.net/about.html
    http://www.gummisig.com/about
    http://www.jaredigital.com/about/

Of course those are pages that really took it to the next level. The point is that you have more burden on your shoulders than a simple blogger. You have to back up your titles with real examples. And that page is the perfect showcase for you.

Apart from that, keep doing what you're doing ;)

I would lower your font-size a bit (especially in the sidebar on the left). It's quite big for a website nowadays.

Thought this thread was deleted guess it got moved here.

@charliev Yeah it is very simple, which is what I think. I'm not using a premade theme though, but i guess there's a ton that look simpler.
@quiz I think you're right. Can i ask what resolution your on? Mines 1980x1024 so the fon't size looks good to me. I think I'll lower everything by 10% for less than 1600px wide.

Alright so I also added a ton of improvements! I added a little snazz to the about page, i still need to get a photo of me up there, but it looks a lot nice now.
I cleaned up the CSS, and added ie 7 and 8 support.
I removed jquery so it should load quite a bit faster now.
I added the whole portfolio section
Fixed a bunch of little css bugs, check it out
