I am a newbie in the world of Blogging.
Please suggest me which blog platform is easy to start with.

Also give me some tips and resources if possible to promote the blogs.

    Thanks for suggesting.

I found blogger to be an easy platform to get started with.

As for ways to promote your blog, I suggest spending some time reading around DP as there are a lot of suggestions already posted on this forum

    I'll recommend Wordpress ( Site @ wordpress.org)

Most hosts will have fantastico that provides for one click installation of wordpress. You just need to enter the requisite information and you're done.

With regard to traffic, choose a good theme, make a logo, and write some good content.

Do some link exchanges, and comment on similar blogs in your niche. If your budget allows it, buy some advertising.

Continue to promote your site, and you'll slowly make your way up.

The most popular and the one you can do the most with is Wordpress. As stated above, you can install it easily from most host providers. You can set up a self-hosted blog for around $20 including domain and hosting. Blogger is ok for beginners but if you plan to put a lot onto it, you are much better to go with a self-hosted blog.

There is so many tutorials on the Internet regarding using Word press that you just need to read a lot and learn as you go. There is so much you can do with plug ins and tweaks that it would take a library to tell you everything.

Adding to above, submitting to directories, running contests, and using forums are all great ways to build traffic and get back links.

I recommend starting and continuing with wordpress (self hosted) you wont regret it, and wont look back. :)

Promote through blog directories, general directories, blog commenting.....

You should try to learn each and every thing. From Blogger to Wordpress and then Wordpress to Own domain blogs all are gradual steps. One should be willing to invest a little bit of money to get full freedom of blogging unlike in Wordpress hosted blogs where you can not add advertisements of your own and in blogger where you can add advertisements but it did not give you options of adding plugins or extra items.

So first of all you should learn how to use a wordpress blog and then go with self hosted blog.

WP is easy as 1-2-3 and it has whole bunch of plugins to go along with it.
