Despite Apple in the past being admiment that they wouldn’t accept a Torrent App for it’s iPhone, iTouch and iPad, the new IS Drive has come into light. Naturally, Apple has refused such App’s in the past due to piracy issues but, Derek Kepner, the developer of the IS Drive App seems to have found a slight loophole. The new App was traditionally build to work with ImageShack’s torrent service but can be easily adapted to work with a load of other Torrent sites such as Mininova and IsoHunt. As you know, Torrent sites have had a lot of bad press in the past due to them enabling illegal downloads of pirated movies, software and music but surely the biggest threat to Apple at the moment would be a loss of revenue from the iTunes store. But there’s also the possibility that Apple didn’t realize or understand the power and workings of the IS Drive App in it’s approval process. During an interview, Derek Kepner told TorrentFreak “I always had the thought that if I didn’t call the app a ‘torrent client,’ Apple would probably let it through the review process.†I don’t know how long the App is going to be around for, and if Apple will remove it due to it’s “questionable natureâ€. But if your interested in getting a copy of the App for yourself you can buy from the App Store for $4.99. From: http://alexwhinfield.com/new-bittorrent-app-available-for-the-iphone/
