I work for ipselon.com . We are in our final testing stages and would like to hear what people think about it so far. All comments and suggestions welcome! , Thanks very much.

I am guessing that you are going to have screenshots in the left "coming soon" boxes? Nice idea, I always like the idea of a small screenshot before visiting a site. Can often help me avoid a wasted click.

 

I would rather use dogpile. But, still it's ok. good luck

 

it's just an out of the box search script u can buy anywhere.. what's s great about it there are 500 of these sites out there and that's being conservative

 

We made our own ranking system and 95% of the ipselon software. Ipselon have PR5 and we are on Beta stage....

B) You can never have enough search engines!

Doken nice, if you made it great job. Fill free to add me to MSN for more comments , however the only thing I would say is go away from the Google Look, and try to be slighty more unique.

 

the image part is nice.. Gets rid of users clicking those MFA ads and then sends them over to me

One thing, i think you should reformat your encyclopedia section, add a little more color, or change the layout, it's just so drab...

Aside from that I really like the ranking system (rank off other's ranks haha) it kind of takes away the flaws in any one given SE... G'luck.

 

The name is really bad/awkward.

 

I get a very long URL with a search result. I guess each /- represents a potential query parameter. I think this would be a hinderance to viral efforts; people might hesitate to share links to searches they performed due to long URL causing trouble in some email clients.

i like it, although to really challenge google etc.. i think you need to get your own results rather than pull them from google (alot of work afaik)

Interesting, it could take off. I agree with the fact a different design needs to be used and the name does suck.

 

I'm getting pretty much the same results as google; slightly different.

As fisher said above, if you wanted to challange google, you would have to write your own search engine and have all your own systems.

 

It's pretty cool, needs a better catchier name and seperate results for google or yahoo (make yourselve unique and don't depend on them) but so far I like it a lot.

 

I think your search engine looks great! However, I would have to agree on maybe coming up with a catchier name than ipselon. Also the style is much like Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Maybe use a different color theme; everyone seems to be using light blue.

If i want to do a search, ill search on google... if i rarely can't find what im looking for (or if i want to check my serp on other search engines) ill visit yahoo and msn search. Why would i bother going anywhere else?

On the upside sure your site looks good, its quick and fast loading but based on the above do you really expect it to succeed?
