New Article Section Needs some input

I've been contemplating redoing an article section for my space wallpapaper site. The current layout isn't very search engine friendly or user friendly as far as easy navigation etc. goes.

Unlike the main site, this section will be totally CSS based, without any tables. My aim is to make this section more or less independent from the main site, giving people something to read while they are browsing through the wallpapers or waiting for a download to complete.

It still needs a bit of work, more images etc. but here's what I've done so far.

Let me know what you guys think. Is this a feasible idea or should I keep it as it currently is in the main site?

I like the background color of your original site. I find it hard to read white on black on this one. Could the headlines be in another color to break up the paragraphs.

Im assuming you are still working on the content as the Fact Files give 404's.

As far as the design, I usually hate Black and white but it really works in this type of site. I didn't have any trouble reading it and it suits the whole "space" theme.

Looks really good so far IMO

Is it my eyes? I see white text on a grey background, not black. This colour scheme works well for me - nice and clear, easy to read, whereas white on black gives me problems as I seem to get a lot of glare.

I certainly like it and think you have done a good job with it so far.

I changed my monitor to the default settings (Office) and that does change it a bit, making it more grey.

I don't know what the actual colour is but the darker the better for the background so it is readable on all monitors.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm still working on it, and I'll post a link to a new version soon. The background is actually a very dark grey... actually the closest you can get to black without using black. I've found black on white irratates my eyes after a while.

Ok. I'm still busy finishing up the links etc, but this is more or less the final layout I've decided on. It should be fluid for resolutions as low as 500px, it won't be pretty but it'll work... sorta.

Ok. The final touches have been done, so everything should be working now (I hope!).

I think it looks good. I'm on a Mac using Safari, in case that helps any.

    It's very easy to read.
