    Hay Guys,

Every now and again I like to write a article for my affiliates. Below is a article about the dangers of affiliates using Black Hat Techniques.

Hopefully some will find it interesting. :)

A lesson from history: How BMW got BANNED from Google.

When I first got into SEO, the SEO expert who trained me up had to justify why doing morally acceptable White Hat SEO was important. After all, what is the harm in dabbling in a little bit of the Black Hat SEO every now and again?

In his efforts to show us the potential dangers of Black Hat SEO, he decided to tell us about how one of the giants of the motor car industry was BANNED from Google due to their Black Hat SEO strategy.

    The BMW story.

No doubt many of you will know who BMW are: founded in 1916, BMW are a manufacturer of automobile and motorcycle manufacturing, and well known for their creation of high performance and luxury vehicles. In additions to owning the “BMW” brand, they also owns the “MINI” brand and the “Rolls Royce” brance. (Thanks Wikipedia ;) )

However BMW, in the world of online marketing and website optimisation, are also known for the day they got it wrong…. SPECTACULARLY… and managed to get the German BMW site black listed from Google and related search engines.
