Please as many people as possible here, please send a note to Apple via their feedback form here:

    http://www.apple.com/feedback/imac.html

....telling them that you want them to make their Magic Mouse with a wire that can be detached for wireless use and attached for wired use?

Please, I don't like wireless mice and even if you do, it would cost you nothing because it would be BOTH a wireless and wired mouse if they made it. Plus think of what would happen if the batteries ran out. You wouldn't have to go to the store or recharge your batteries before you could use your computer again.

You could just plug in your Magic Mouse and get new batteries later!

A real mouse??? How dare you, Sir, suggest that I use one of...one of...those. I'd sooner throw my precious iMac into a swamp. Those devices to which you refer are for common threadjackers.

    Never!

yah the magic mouse is great been using it for several days non stop. works great on windows and osX.

it is a futuristic mouse and it might take the "old school boys" some time to get used to it.

everyone who touched it in the last couple days were jealous that they did not have one.

I am using one its like the next generation of computer hardware but to my horror its batteries will end up anytime.. so I agree with you to suggest apple attaching a supplementary cable to it.

Both option (i.e. wired and wireless would be good). Apple must supply a cable that can charge the batteries without removing from the mouse. Nice product but have some limitations.
