Hello! I went searching for a marketing, digital media, website forum and this came up as one of the best. For the past ten years I have been working office jobs and once they find out my skill in marketing, digital media, and website design, it becomes another part of my job. I have never applied for or been hired specifically for this type of work. Until now. My company recently lost a major player in their Marketing department on the eve of launching a new brand, website, and marketing plan. I was requested to apply because of my assistance through the planning phases of this as just someone who knew how to do this stuff. Now I have an interview in a week and I am... well I don't know how to interview for this job. I can get any job I want in the work that I do now, but this has always just been a hobby of mine. To my question that I had no idea where to put it; what should I provide as a portfolio to offer them? What kind of projects? Everything I have done was for the companies I have previously worked for, I never kept any of it. This position lists Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, and Illustrator as programs you need to know (I do know these programs fairly well). It also lists photography (my side business), video (I have dabbled), writing, and websites/CMS (10+ years as a hobby). I'll be browsing and reading through all your amazing information in the forum, but if anyone feels kind enough to lend any sort of advice here I would really appreciate it. Again, hello! Thanks for having me!
