Hi i have noticed a change while searching at Google so want to have a look at it then please try doing the steps:

    1) Open Google.com
    2) Write "The Word Department"
    3) See the Results
    4) Any one Noticed the results displayed by the Google

or click here for the result.

Google is showing the result containing the word: World so is there any mistake on the words by G.

Any suggestions or it's a mistake..

    Now it isn't:

    The "Word" Department

It's interesting though but I don't think its a mistake, they probably expected the user to have mistyped the word World :S
Weird because they normally add suggested text under the search box.

That must have been a temporary fluke. I just tried it and that results were normal.

What did you searched at google.com please try it with "The Word Department" and check the results as google is showing in the 1st rank : url and the title with the word: World.

It seems like improvisation, finding the next nearest word. I agree it should not happen, but its happening...

I noticed this yesterday with a search on
    'most interesting places in Pairs'
where they automatically substituted Paris for Pairs but didn't say 'did you mean to search for ...Paris'

A new 'feature' I suppose but quite a lot of scope for error if they are not careful

Googlers have gone crazy to fight webmasters who sell links.

Now their coders are making elementary spelling mistakes.

Matt will you check it out with your new algo team and see where the mistake is occuring?:p

I try check out the first page of the search result, most of the website that i went in from the result, when i search for "word" and "department" in each page, most of the page can be found. Would this be the new result base on the content? Eventhough the header of each post have the word "world" but in the content have "word".

But still, very interesting that it might show something new here :) great find amit.

    Thanks.

Hmmm... Interesting observation Amits. It must be a glitch in Google's algo. It would be more difficult to rank now if that's the new algo, don't you think?
