I really like how this one came out. It's a fully custom website and script that was made specifically for this site. It has over 300,000 different recipes and each page is VERY search engine friendly.

As with most of my websites, I have two things in mind, SEO and the user interface.

This uses a lot of new AJAX technology to make the user experience as seamless as possible. Users can save recipes without refreshing the page, and that recipe will automatically go into their saved bin, the same goes with when they remove a recipe from their saved bin.

Users can also share the recipes via IM, an Embed code for their blog, website or MySpace profile and can easily email it to a friend. See the bottom of http://www.momsrecipe.org/Chocolate_Chip_Cookies/190037/

Also the search function uses a FULLTEXT index in MySQL to improve relevance in the results. It also has an AJAX Google like Suggestions. Go type something in the search bar and you will see some suggestions pop down.

This website has over 300,000 static pages but is easily editable as it was made in a qausi-template fashion. This means by changing just the index.php file you will change all 300,000 pages. So adding advertisements and anything else will be very easy to do.

I spent over 40 hours working on this, and I just finished, so this is brand spanking new.

    Price: $800 USD

    Hi David,

Interested, what are the sources of the recipes please?

Also, under each recipe: "1 servings | Add a Tag" - what is the function of the "Add a Tag" Feature as currently it doesn't "do" anything for me.

If I were to purchase, there are some small modificiations that I would want done: changing the views to 0, serving size should be depluralized when the serving size is only 1 serving etc. Plus, in the drop-down for recipe suggestions, choosing a selection would best take you right to the recipe rather than to a list. There are also some spacing issues & unrecognized characters in some recipes. Would you include these fixes in the purchase price?

    Thanks,
    tasty

Plus, are you going to sell copies or will this be the only one?

    Thanks,

Let me answer this as best as I can.

The tags thing you saw, was my mistake, it's been removed. It was going to be a feature but I couldn't find a user-friendly way to stop spam.

I can change the views back to 0. They are the way they are for my development reasons, and changing them back won't be a problem.

Changing the plurality of serving size will be tough, but I can do it. It's hard-coded into the database so I'll have to write a new script to change all 300,000 entries but I will do it.

The spacing/character issues are inside the content of the database. I tried for a little bit to come up with a way to fix it, but to no avail. If I do find a way to fix it, I will.

The search suggestion's and going right to that recipe I'm not 100% sure on, but if you purchase it and want me to look further into this I will indeed. Its very possible I can work a hack around it.

Finally, the price is for this 1 copy on this domain. This is currently the only copy out there, but if you want the full rights to the script I will be more than willing to sell that to you.

As always, it's nice to talk to you on here, and let me know!

    David

Exactly how much of these 300k recipes are duplicates of each other? I’ve seen some recipes listed over 3 times (exact same copies).

That I can't tell you b/c I do not know. I am aware there are some duplicates in the DB though, with any DB this size you'll have some dupes/errors.

From what the thread starter said:

I'm sure that is where all the views are coming from. He's not the original owner of the database. Anyways very nice site.

No, I had set a random number of views to all the recipes from 1 - 300,000 just for testing purposes. I can revert them back to 0 to buyer.

Nobody's purchased this yet. So you could be the only person with this script with no copies out there....

If you can add some browse by letters so more pages would get indexed id might be interested. But the current link structure kinda sucks for getting 300,000 pages indexed if you know what I mean.
