So I am building out an affiliate program for my company http://www <dot> tv-armor <dot> com. I am definitly planning on going with a pay per sale program. My products range in price from $69 to $289 with the vast majority of sales in the $159 range. We have a really really good conversion ratio. I would be willing to do a paypal payment each week to my affiliates. What would you expect to get as an affiliate? $5? $10 per sale? A percentage of the sale? Obviously some people are going to want the moon, but whats the norm for a hard product? We are new to affiliate marketing so some guidence from other vendors who are running their own programs would be great! Beside mentioning it here and telling my customers about it, where else should I promote it? Thanks, Mike
Hi Mike, Since your products vary in price, you should pay out a %. Percentages vary greatly based on the market so you need to research what commissions are paid in similar product categories to yours. I'd say the average range for retail products is 8-12% whereas electronics can be as low as 1 or 2%. Your product is not electronics though, it's an electronics accessory. (I guess that's how you'd categorize it.) "Beside mentioning it here and telling my customers about it, where else should I promote it?" There are quite a few affiliate forums that allow affiliate program announcements (including mine). You just need to read the rules at each to see what's allowed. You can also submit your program to some of the affiliate directories. Hope this helps and best of luck!
Check what similar programs do, a percent is usually the best way to go. To promote your affiliate program, contact the owners of TV related blogs and websites and ask if they would add a banner to their site for your program. You can grow a big network doing that.
