I have not been around for a very long time. So long in fact that when I went to log in... I had to change my password because it was more then 1,000 days old In the old days, I used to write content for some of you. Then I got into affiliate marketing. Several months ago I was approached by the SteadyTracker Company and asked to make their product lines more successful. This week their brand new site was completed and with it, the affiliate program... The SteadyTracker Company manufactures two main lines of products: The SteadyTracker The SteadyTracker is a camera stabilizer which has become increasingly popular in the film and video making industry. There are two versions, the SteadyTracker Xtreme and the SteadyTracker UltraLite. Each one has its own benefits. The CobraCrane The CobraCrane is a camera jib arm; for those not in the film industry... It is a camera crane or boom. There are two major lines of CobraCrane, the CobraCrane I and the CobraCrane II. The CobraCrane I is a single bar jib arm that is easy to use, simple to set up and is one of the most affordable camera cranes on the market today. The CobraCrane II was developed to be sturdier and to handle heavier DSLR camcorders so it is a dual arm design. Both the lines come in standard, HD (Heavy Duty) and Plus (Longest Version). There is also two spin-off models, the CobraCrane Backpacker and the CobraCrane FotoCrane. The Backpacker is a light-weight, easy to use and simple to set up camera boom. The FotoCrane on the other hand was developed more for cameras then for camcorders, but none the less is capable of handling light-weight camcorders with ease. Under the CobraCrane name, the company also manufactures an array of camera dollies. One model is designed to run on 2 inch PVC track, another is designed to run along the ground while a third is designed to be free-wheeling. As stated before, this is a very small niche. However, there is also literally no competition for keywords either. You are allowed to bid on our trademark terms. This means you can put up ads for "CobraCrane", "SteadyTracker", "CobraCrane Backpacker", "SteadyTracker Xtreme", etc. ***Some keyword examples in italics*** We currently do not have a lot of banner ads available. However, all you need to do is to ask me and I will have a custom one made especially for your site(s). Just keep in mind that if I have a lot of requests for custom banners, getting them done may take a few days. Stop by and check out www.steadytracker.net. Click on the "Affiliates" button in the upper right hand of the page and sign up today. If you need more information, do not hesitate to shoot me a PM here, or email me at steadytracker_webmaster |AT| yahoo.com If you need a custom banner made, do not forget to tell me the name of the site or at least the colors you want for the banner and I will get to them on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you have any questions, comments, complaints or concerns, PM or email me through the forums or at the email posted above. Good luck and I hope to see some of you there. -Nick
I appreciate the advice, but unfortunately that would be an impossibility. If we sold our products at a 1000% markup like our competition, then no problems. At 10%, affiliates will actually be making a larger share of the profits then the company owner. Our competition sells the same exact product lines, but sell them for 4 to 5 times more then us while their cost to manufacture is the virtually the same. But then again, you also have to keep in mind that you can go to AdWords and place a bid on "Camera Stabilizer", "Camera Jib Arm", "CobraCrane", "SteadyTracker", etc. at only $0.05 per click and have ads between 2-7 in position. Like I said, there is no competition in the niche. Only a few of our competitors advertise, but they only advertise in the U.S. and pay next to nothing per click. I just dropped $50 in ads earlier this week and generated an average of 3% conversions for the site. So you have those other affiliate programs in fields like web hosting, where you may get as much as 50% in commission, but have to shell out more then $1 per click to be competitive... and you can't even use trademark terms. One thing I always heard when I was marketing, is that to make money you need to find a niche which has a very low competition level. Well I would definitely consider next to none as being very low. Now one thing I can do is offer a bonus to the top affiliate each month of 1% site-wide sales. In other words, if the site generates $100,000 in revenue (whether it comes from our existing world-wide dealer network or new customer) the top affiliate would walk away with 1% of that regardless of how much he/she sold on their own. The top affiliate would then be running close to 30%, but everyone else would make 10% (plus 2% for affiliates under them). -Nick
