But you could have some fun, win $100 (and bragging rights) and help raise money for a good cause while putting some in your pocket. I just set up an affiliate program for Aboon Books. Commissions are 20%. Only 2 products currently (may be a 3rd coming) one of which is a $15.99 ebook about self-publishing children's book. The second one is a children's chapter book with a bonus of the winning entry in the My-Name-Is-Harry Writing Contest. My-Name-Is-Harry Writing Contest is simply the best story that begins with the following 4 sentences: My name is Harry. I try to avoid saying my whole name because everyone laughs, even nice people who try not to. I was born September 1, 1991, seven years before the first Harry Potter book was published in the United States. So my parents, Marc and Brianna Potter were unaware that they were ruining my life when they named me Harry. For each copy of the book or ebook that is sold through July 21, 2007, Aboon Books has pledged to donate $1 to A Room to Read as part of Room to Read fundraiser begun on Squidoo lens. Also each copy of a book or ebook will count toward total sales by an affiliate. The affiliate with the highest total sales as of midnight July 21, 2007 wins $100. $50 for second and $25 for third. In the event of a tie, the first affiliate to reach the total is considered the winner. So.... the sooner you get started the better. Possible tie-ins, to create a webpage or blog entry that pulls in more sales would be to also promote other items that would appeal to either Harry Potter fans OR writers.
