http://adwords.blogspot.com/2008/02/update-to-display-url-policy.html I just ran across this - What are your thoughts?
venrooy - thanks for bringing this to our attention. I think this rule will make it much more important to have our own "pre-sell" landing pages (and using our own domains) such as a review page prior to directing traffic to the publisher's sales page. This new policy makes it clear that url redirects will be prohibited, but it's not entirely clear about domain masking (such as displaying an entire site from domain X within a frame on domain Y). My assumption is this will also be frowned upon more so than it currently is, but hopefully not.
FINALLY! Thank you Google! No more dealing with all those two cents .info domains that dominate the screen. nadavs
i personally think this is a major update google has imposed... but think that there can be a way if you want to advertise for clickbank products website name can be mixed with any sub-domain for example: Display url: http://anyname.original-website-name.com Tracking url: provided by click bank Destination URL: will be the product website so if any url directly open the domain of Display url he will get nothing this can be...
Nothing really new. Direct linking is still going to work, because the landing page will match the display url.
Doesn't really effect me except that it may negatively effect my competitors... to that I say YAY. I'm a big believer in having your own domains and your own content. That way you can do AdWords battle and gain SEO presence at the same time.
