New Adwords Campaigns Yield 0 Impressions For Days

About half of the campaigns I set up for Adwords yield 0 impressions for days, possibly permanently if I continue to wait any longer. These campaigns are very much "Active" and have a hefty daily spending limit.

What are some reasons why campaigns may stay at 0 impressions? I'm sure some of you have seen this...

    Thanks

Some keywords and ads require manual approval before they will run - which can take days. They will show as "active" even though they are not running.

If this isn't the case, and you're sure you are bidding enough to have your ad show, you should just contact google and ask them.

    Ok..

Next question is how come some Ad Groups begin to yield impressions, then stop all of a sudden. For instance, half the keywords in one group have 200-300 impressions for keywords that clock in at 3,000 searches a day. This number of impressions hasn't changed in days. Some keywords even have 0, and that's not the case.

Google doesn't disclose daily searches for keywords. They have an estimating tool which isn't close to being accurate much of the time. It also depends on what position your ad is running, because if it isn't on the first page, your impressions are going to be greatly reduced.

Your campaigns are assigned a quality score based on your CTR and landing page. This can affect your position without changing your bid. Your ad can drop quite a few places if your ad isn't getting a good CTR compared to other ads.

Only google can tell you exactly what is going on.

Hey aj22, I think I had a similiar problem before where my ads weren't even showing and after some research and asking some people in the forums, one of them said that if you plan to advertise for a specific country, your own country also has to be included when you make your ad which is kind of whacko but that's what I heard and I actually tried it and it worked.

double check to see that there isnt an email saying one of your ads has a grammatical mistake (disaproved ads) for example. Then the ads are shown active but dont yield any impressions. (I had this problem).
