Did anyone read the article? I was wondering if my overall site ranking could be due to the fact that what's updated most often is not a sub-domain or on the main directory but a deep link [a sub-directory on the main level]? I seem to be getting more hits everyday, yet my ranking stays the same or lowers. Q...
That, or that ruler is directly in front of where something else of his should be, if you know what I mean. /Ergh, that sounded so perverted.
I'd say it's borderline... But I don't think Google would close your account for something like that, they'd most likely send you an email warning if it was against the rules.
Hi all Just noticed all the traffic to my site from these forums and found this thread. Thanks for the feedback on the article. I just wanted to clarify a couple of things: a) I originally wrote the article suggesting that arrows were ok to use but Google AdSense staff emailed me to let me know that the use of arrows or symbols is against their program policies (even though this is not specifically referred to in their TOS). b) They have no problem with the use of images, within reason. A Google staffer personally reviewd and approved the existing use of AdSense code in all the pages linked to in the article, so feel free to imitate! c) I have noticed an increase in clicks since implementing all the changes I discuss in the article, but the addition of the link units was the big one - they convert much, much better than all others combined. d) Sorry you find the little boy scary - he is meant to project "easy and fun" for our training courses e) Yes, SiteProNews must have a massive readership - I received over 4,000 visitors and nearly 50,000 AdSense impressions in 24 hours! The AdSense commission didn't hurt either f) I am a female not a male bye!
Kal, hi Ajeet Khurana here (you remember I interview you, reprinted your articles and picture). Nice to see you here at DP. Hope the Search Engine College concept really took off. I think you should visit DP more often as we would all gain from your SEO erudition See you around.
Well as long as Google doesn't think so, I don't care Thanks for the welcome all, will try to visit when I can.
Google's policies in this area can be summed up as "don't do anything that draws undue attention to the ads". Sam
But as Google have reviewed this site, this is a technique that can be used (and I might try one day) I suppose you could use a sitting dog with it's tail pointing at it or whatever... Ah the possibilities!
