I got the same email today. So what do you predict will be the consequence?

It will make channel tracking even more interesting. Too bad that channel tracking hasn't been around a little longer so that we could get some decent statistic to judge any changes against.

We need Overture to come out with an AdSense equivalent so we can have more competition and more choices.

Compar - I would guess CTR for AdWords/AdSense goes up a little bit.

    jbgilbert - Agreed.

THe thing worrying me about this that, although CTR may improve, it may significantly reduce earnings per click. From the message it is also not clear to me when this is goingto be active, is it already in place, or is this somehwere in the future still?

I'm guessing it's already in place (at least partially). About 1 1/2 weeks ago, I noticed AdSense ads all of a sudden were eerily accurate as far as context. Look through some of the threads in this forum... The the mod_gzip thread shows AdSense about mod_gzip and compressing HTTP traffic. Stuff talking about the Google API shows ads for WDSL and SOAP tools. It only seemed to get that accurate a little more than a week ago.

I'm guessing if it wasn't implemented already, it's implemented now. Last night AdWords was down for maintenance. And today there was an AdWords newsletter letting people know about it.

I've noticed the same increased accuracy.

Throughout this week I've noticed a slight increase in CTR. Nothing else changed in my sites with the exception of the relevancy of the ads, so I'm attributing the higher CTR to the improved technology being used to serve more targeted ads.

I haven't noticed a big shift in $ per click, but I'm going to be watching it pretty closely over the couple weeks. So far this week average daily earnings have slightly increased.

My best AdSense revenue was generated by a few pages I have concerning the online pharmacy business. I don't know for sure if Google has stopped taking AdWord ads for these web sites my pages all show Public Service ads only.

What would anyone recommend I replace AdSense ads with for these pages? I know about allfeeds and are using them, but there CT prices are very low. Is there anything better?
