New Adsense Privacy Policy

Discussion in 'Guidelines / Compliance' started by travoholic, Apr 4, 2009.

    Hello,

With the changes to Adsense and the need to update our privacy policies I was wondering what happens if we don't have a privacy policy on our site at all? Will I need to add policiies to all of my sites or is it ok to still not have one?

    Thanks,
    Kirsty

Yes you do need to have a Privacy Policy, unless you're not using google ads of course.

Also be sure to replace 'your site' in the new dart cookie bit with the url/name of your own site, most people have been too stupid to notice that and simply copied it literally from the Google text.

Please make any necessary changes to your privacy policies by April 8th, 2009, as the official launch of interest-based advertising will occur on April 9th. If you're a blogger, you can paste your privacy policy into your sidebar.

You should be following all of the Adsense program policies if you don't want to risk losing your account. If you haven't read them recently, I suggest doing so again.

    Here is the relevant bit:

If you haven't updated your site yet, there's a nice one you can use that's provided by Jensense:

Hello, is it possible to add the privacy policy as a new page in my wordpress blog?

Or does it have to be in the footer? If so, how do I put it in the footer?

    Thanks
