After all your advice, I have changed the placement of Google Ads on my site. Can someone please comment on the new design @ http://labnol.blogspot.com
I am still undecided on where to place the 336x280 box. Should I place it on the left or right of content ? http://labnol.blogspot.com/2005/05/screencasting-to-help-your-mom.html
Ask Maverick about the Ads placement!!! and yeah Welcome back Maverick i was about to ask Hindustan Times about your sudden disappearance!!
One thing that concerns me with placing multiple ad units on a page is "where do the highest paying ads go?" - probably not in the place that you want them - i.e. the spot that gets the most clicks. Looking at your site, I think the most likely to be clicked ad is below your first article. It's probably the third block, which means it will have the lowest paying ads. At www.bkweddings.com - I went from having several ad units, to just a single ad box (with one ad), and my earnings have been at least as good and usually better than when I had several ad units on the same page. I give credit to the fact that since there's only one ad, the highest paying ad is always on the page. My repeat visitors aren't likely to click on that same ad multiple times, though.
google has been offering advice to customers (that's us) on where to place ads. you might like to email them and ask them to take a look at your site. you can read about it here www.adsenseforums.net/index.php?showtopic=24 all the best,
Excellent Point nevetS. I was not aware of this issue at all. My medium rect. has the maximum hits so to make it serve the highest paying ad, I moved that to be displayed first. Is it OK ? Please advice - http://labnol.blogspot.com
I think it's much better now. And the ads are really well integrated so your ctr should be pretty good. I wonder if it wouldn't draw a little more attention to your ads if you put your bookmark/comment tagline beneath the ads. That way all that orange text sort of underlines the ads.
Thank you all. I derived most of the inspiration from Google Heatmap - http://labnol.blogspot.com/2005/05/guide-for-google-adsense-publishers.html
Hey Bro, How are you.. hows your adsense doing? I was kinda busy dude... I got married and was on vacation, so could not post much here. Though I was missing reading posts here . I am back now, and would be active from this monday ... till then take care. ~Maverick~
Oh my God, you are the man! You own http://labnol.blogspot.com ? How much you are earning with this blog? Must be 4 figures per day. Please do share with us your killer marketing strategies. Who'd thought it would get this magnitude of traffic today.
I think is better to keep a low number of pictures and place them next to your adds. People tend to click adds next to pictures but if there are to many pictures they will get a little lost somehow. Anyway, it's a nice site you have
