Most know that YPN can have ad targeting issues, but here's a new problem with ad blocking. You block ads by entering in the displayed url, which may or may not be the url the visitor is directed to if they click it. There are now advertisers who are not using any TLD in their ads (example: RealEstateLicense (no ".com" in the displayed url). This makes it impossible to block the ad because YPN's blocking requires an exact match, and you can't enter in a domain without a TLD. I've seen several advertisers starting to do this and they are appearing on sites that aren't even remotely related to the site's content. I almost wonder if these are RON ads are having the TLD left out intentionally so they cannot be blocked? Anyway, if you try to block one of these ads, it isn't going to work unless YPN makes some programing changes. YPN is also now supporting sub-domain blocking - something they previously hadn't done.
he,he. One said that maybe they are RON ads, which you can't block (I don't think he had any idea), and the email response to my detailed description of the problem said: "Thank you for sharing your comments and suggestions about the Yahoo! Publisher Network beta product. Your feedback helps us address problems and create the ideal program for our publishers. We will continue to accept feedback throughout the beta test period, so please continue to provide us with your comments and requests." lol.
