Yes, I guess that's a plus. Getting another year of registration. I want to do this because my hosting registered my domain thru dynadot and since it has privacy I can't tell if the domain is under my name or the hosting.... I just asked them if I could access my domain account thru dynadot and they said I couldn't.. they said dynadot might request prood of ID... is this true? hmmmm

Would you recommend Moniker as a new domain registrant?

Well, if domains had expired - they move into pending delete state and charges are high for restoring the domain names, not just with registrar that you have named in the post but practically everyone.

For this reason - notice to renew domains are started 90 days in advance and sent every 30 days - so in my humble opinion sir, you didn't act in time - so no point in blaming the registrar for the mess! I doubt ICANN would do anything in this regard as well, as this is ICANN policy, deleted domains do not appear in market overnight - they go through this extended phase of deletion - giving you time to claim your domain back - though at a premium after date of expiry.

    Cheers

The reason I wouldn't do it is to minimize my risk and downtime in case something goes wrong with a particular company.

All other things being equal, the chance of one company going down is twice as high as the chance of two companies going down at once.
