I have a paypal debit card, one of those wonderful things you can use at an atm to access your balance. I got back from a trip to Cuba on Jan 1st, and the atm at the airport ate my card... I called paypal immediately and they ensured me I would receive a replacement within 5 business days... a week later I call and they tell me that there was a processing problem and it will be re-sent... so 10 days goes by, I call them back, now they tell me that there is a huge problem between them and their 3rd party mastercard provider preventing replacement cards from being sent out... This was 4 weeks ago and I still don't have my replacement. I used this card religously... has anyone else had this problem?
For that reason, I will not use an ATM that holds the card until the transaction is done. If it don't swipe, I don't use it. All it took for me is one time, on a Saturday night in Vegas to learn not to trust rogue ATM's.
