You should of read their reviews first on hosting. They are just plain awful. They are good as a domain registrar, but not as good as namecheap. Godaddy's interface is very slow. Thats why there is hosting companies for hosting and domain companies for domains. Never purchase both from the same provider. - Prilep
I totally agree with you and I requested my re-found within 9 hours after I couldn't access my own site and that very bad customer service. I just don't understand how a person that works for a company can tell you to fix the problem yourself and not even check if everything is setup properly. Check this out, NoDaddy (http://nodaddy.com/). That could be their new company names, ooo wait their company is explain by critics on NoDaddy.
What is going on ??? I just checked my bank account and the money they re-founded me got back to them. Update Just called them and they told me "On our side the money has been re-founded, we don't know why its not in your bank account, call your bank and see what the problem is" This is ridiculous.
My opinion is a few years old, since I haven't used their hosting in a few years. However, they ruined it with my past experiences. My opinion: GoDaddy is a great registrar, they do domains wonderfully. However, their hosting services are not so good. I had a vBulletin forum on their services at one point, server loads averaged 20+. Page generation time on a thread page took over 8 seconds during non-peak hours, and even longer during peak times. I contacted their support, and they blamed vBulletin. They suggested I use different forum software. vBulletin now is on a server outside of their network, the same traffic, runs great! Server loads are typically average 2-3 (8 core system; dual xeon). Page generation time is always less than 0.2 seconds, even during peak times. I will never use GoDaddy's hosting again.
Guess what guys, those people that work for GoDaddy don't know anything and they don't know what they are doing. So I have called my bank and they told me the re-found that I received has returned back to GoDaddy, because some kind of confirmation was not received correctly to the bank by the person who re-founded me the money. So I gave GoDaddy a call again and they said again that everything was fine from their side, but after I told them that the person that re-founded my money did not confirm something, then they said "We are sorry for the misunderstanding, you money has been fully re-founded" after they look at my account. Trust me, never go with GoDaddy, they don't know what they are doing.
That's true.. Godaddy is so damn slow here.. I'm using name.com for domain and hostgator for shared hosting, for VPS I used knownhost.
That's quite ridiculous for a worldwide corporations like godaddy to hire support persons like that lol are you sent the payment directly from your bank or via Paypal / CC ? my friend who is using paypal got a full refund and it's delivered directly to his paypal account. But that's too bad on your side.. being scammed by a worldclass corps
Yeah, they totally suck and soon I will be changing my domain registrant. I paid through my credit card, and my bank confirmed today that they money is in my account, at least I didn't get scammed. Not sure if that person that was re-founding my money did that on purpose or not, but he most likely did that on purpose because I started arguing with him. GoDaddy = BadDaddy
I myself recommend you to use Namecheap further on, although they're not really cheap like their name, but they do give the best for their customer. I like their service!
I got both NameCheap and GoDaddy account.. guess what.. NameCheap offer and ease of use far surpassing Godaddy in any way... I ask for transfer pin number (the verification things) from Godaddy so that I can transfer to NameCheap, they reply that why I want to transfer and then they ignore me.. Live support? dont even dream of calling em... They have too many noobies operator on the line...
