I 've got like 20 domain that i sold at the beginning of last year. I cancel every single one of them using cancel. 1and1. com. Totally i got a bill for the renewal fee for all the domain. I called and they said there is nothing they can do..

screw you 1and1, worst company ever

1&1 have a crap rep in the domaining industry. Never used them before & never ever will. The worst company is Registerfly but 1&1 seems to be heading that way as well.

I can't believe that! what they need to do to check the record, canceled the invoice that was sent in error and create a new invoice for you. I have the same problem with my hosting http://www.velnetweb.co.uk and that it how the issue was resolved.
