Never better that 1% am I just hopping for too much?

    Hi,

    I have around 40K pages on my site, they get updated all the time, (about 10 or 20 new pages a day).
    The pages are updated by real people and not robots, so I guess all those pages are fairly unique.

    I get a fair amount of impressions but never more than 1% conversion.
    My ads are not on all the pages, (by my choice or user choices), but they appear on 90% of pages.

    I see some claiming that they never get less than 5% and sometimes they get 10%.
    Are those figures unrealistic? Or is 1% about as good as it gets for an established site?

    What do you think?

    No it is the blog hosting one.
    I realise that forums are fairly bad when it comes to ads.

    It is http://www.journalhome.com, but my question was more general regarding if 1%, (and sometimes less), was about as good as it gets or if 5-10% was not so unrealistic.
