It is an amazing story with in depth coverage of several areas of marketing, including an interesting area called neuromarketing. To be honest I was surprised about how easy it is for the average consumer to be manipulated by marketing. Without warning, we could find ourselves assaulted with stimuli that nearly forces us to select a product we may not even want or like. Below is an excerpt from the Frontline article that explains the Coke vs Pepsi taste test. Lately I've been hearing about using brain scans to detect lying, so I'll bet it's only a matter of time before we start seeing more brain scans to detect product preferences and satisfaction. Especially if these types of MRI machines become advanced enough to perform scans at distance.
