Network Solutions reserving domain so I can only buy it from them

    Hi guys.

I was wondering if this is legal, and if any of you have experienced this:

I had a client look on network solutions for a domain he wants, and it was available...

I now go to godaddy (and tucows), and they say the domain is not available.

    When I check whois:
    Domain Name: ***********.COM
    Registrar: NETWORK SOLUTIONS, LLC.
    Whois Server: whois.networksolutions.com
    Referral URL: http://www.networksolutions.com
    Name Server: NS1.RESERVEDDOMAINNAME.COM
    Name Server: NS2.RESERVEDDOMAINNAME.COM
    Status: clientHold
    Updated Date: 26-apr-2008
    Creation Date: 26-apr-2008
    Expiration Date: 26-apr-2009

However, if I go to Network solutions:

Congratulations! The following domains are available

Hows that for really stuffing you around and forcing you to register through them?

Is there anything I can do?

I really dont want to use Network solutions because 1) Price, 2) they are a bunch of cybersquatting wallys!

    Advise?

netsol is not a good player.
i heard they always register any name that is checked there.
Never check domain name availability on netsol :)

NetworkSolutions only reserves the name for you if you click OK in the popup box when you leave the results page. Phone NetworkSolutions at 800-333-7680 to remove the reserved status.(the phone # is in the popup box).
