I'm working on a new network of video game related sites. Most of the sites are for games that are un-released so it's open market on who becomes the authority sites. You guys think it's best to go with a network forum.. or each site host it's own forum? I can think of at least a half dozen reasons to do it either way, so I'm looking for input. I will likely start out with 3 to 5 sites, but I plan to get a good solid network of around 10 sites. I have a high end PC/ gamers tech site in the work and will build these gaming sites into part of the network. I'm just undecided if I want to mix up the forums or not. I can see the advantages early on as it will help bring in users to each of the sites, but later it could cause issues. Any thoughts or has anyone had experience in using a single network wide forum?
I agree, there is more positives for just having 1 forum for all the sites rather than having 1 forum for each site.
One vBulletin licence, single point of forum administration, one set of staff or moderators etc and the boards will act as a hub joining and promoting all the sites.
Ok thanks everyone.. I was leaning in the direction of a single forum, just wanted to see if there was something I wasn't thinking of.
