Some feel that MLM's are the wave of the future. I am not among those that think this. I feel they are a marketplace hoax, they are usually a scheme to continuously enroll distributors.
Financially the odds for an individual to achieve financial success are practically nil. MLM's are not regulated like franchises are.......pyramid schemes are for gullible dreamers.

What did Bernie Maddoff say?..."One born every minute".;)

Pyramid schemes or "Ponzi Schemes" are Network Marketing (MLMs) - they don't offer a consumable product.

MLMs all are required to offer a consumable product or service by law. We are not discussing Ponzi Schemes here. A few have been closed in the last couple of years, we have heard nothing about closed crypto-currencies. Lets discuss facts.

The sale of products is in no way a protection from anti pyramid statutes set forth in federal or state (provincial) laws. At least 70% of all goods sold by MLM companies must be bought by distributors. No protection for these distributors....

You have to balance the amount of money you invest in order to actually keep making a profit.

Most people don't understand ranks and the importance of building a strong downline, that's the main aim in a MLM network.

I respectfully disagree with a lot of the comments in this thread. MLM's aren't for dreamers. In fact, dreamers should not apply. Only do'ers will see success. The MLM business model for the TOP is designed to recruit many people as possible hoping that they sell to friends and family quickly and in return the TOP sees success. However, anyone with real business ethic and drive can make a strong living under the model. It takes an ambitious person who can LEAD people and drive results. Look at Arbonne, Cosmetic companies etc. There are some VERY successful people who prove it's not a scam.. Heck one of my co-workers daughters who was very influential in her school and community started with Arbonne and recruited a successful team who is selling and recruiting for her. She received a white mercedes-benz from the company. She's committed. But it's true most people will fail. Most people can't sell. Most people don't want to work for success. Most people don't have the drive...

Most people fail NOT because they are dream chasers. They fail because they aren't do'ers. And they fail to have the slightest business plan to execute their strategy (that they usually don't have).
