    Requires registeration? Would you consider turning it off? Many people do not add quality websites only because of the whole sign up thing.

    Yeah a suggestion there. Registration turns away a lot of people if you really want a directory with good content.

    DMOZ is the best directory, but it doesn't require registration.

    I submitted my site but yes I totally agree that registration is a hindrance. Also the way your category is listed choosing from them is a difficult process.
