    Hello,

I found out netscape.com doesn't exist anymore. It is propeller.com now.
When you visit on netscape.com, it will redirect you to netscape.aol.com.

What do you think about these changes?

I believe that all backlinks from Netscape to our WebPages are gone. I found out that propeller.com is not indexed from Google. You can find only 5 links from propeller.com by Google.

They haven't even done the move properly. Some of the control panel links still point to the original Netscape ones :(

Apparently the netscape.com brand is going back to a more traditional human edited news format. So, the current dweeb 2.0 stuff is being shuffled to propellor until netscape.com re-releases.

Too bad, would have loved to get my hands on that domain :)

    http://blog.netscape.com/2007/09/11/social-news-update/

    From their blog:
"The Netscape social news experience that you are currently using today will be migrated and revealed soon at http://www.propeller.com/. We're working hard behind the scenes to ensure a smooth transition before we officially launch at this new destination.

It is important to us that you feel empowered to choose how you want to consume your news and participate in the community. As we mentioned in a recent post, the Netscape.com site will soon be redirected to the new Netscape portal, a more traditional and editorially-driven news experience. It's already live, so you can check it out now if you haven't already. You'll notice some elements of our social news site there in short order, so that it will be easy for you to go back and forth and engage in each if you like."

A very sad story. Once Netscape was the biggest web browser company, but hit by Microsoft. Now it is gone forever.

I have been thinking of one day Google may be the same as Netscape.
