Hy site has outgrown its shared hosting and is in need of either a VPS or dedicated. I'd like the host to be offsure in either the Netherlands or Sweden. Disk space does matter. I use hardly any diskspace at all. However it needs to have a decent bandwidth and needs to be able to cope with having a few thousand people online at one time. Sometimes in the day there will be thousands of people online, whilst other times there will be hardly anyone. Any help is appreciated.
can you explain why you need offshore? if you are not hosting anything illegal then it should not matter.
Hi iBoot, I'll be very honest with you and let me know my situation. I've always previously used shared hosting but have now outgrown it. I'm getting too many visitors and shared hosts don't like it. So now it's time for me to upgrade. Now I'm not be any means knowledgeable in this area, in fact it's all very new to me. All I know is the server/VPS needs to be able to cope with a few thousand people on line at the same time (only during peek times in the day). However there will be other times when there is only a couple of people online. I do also know I'm looking for a Linux. As for bandwidth I'd say somewhere around 300-600gb (with option to upgrade). Atm, I'd just like to get quotes from different companies and compare prices, plans, features, hosting reutation, etc and then come to a decision. So if you post a link to your Netherlands/Sweden hosting site that'd be great .
Why only Sweden or Netherland? You could try 1and1 (UK, DE or US), their VPS are cheap and they have a lot of options. The only thing you'll need is knowledge on how to manage your server. I've had a server with them in Deutschland, and it was great (plus they have fast, unlimited bandwidth).
Mia? what is wrong with asking what he actually needs? I was just trying to give him an idea that we need a budget or we can't quote him correctly.
Every one of your posts here since you started posting breaks the rules... I'd suggest reading them. You are not supposed to offer package deals, your services, or do any self promotion. So far every post you've made here does just that. I'm surprised you've lasted this long without getting banned...
