Netfirms or 1&1?

    Hi,

I am about to buy a new domain name in the next few days. I have narrowed my choice to 2 registrars,

    1&1 and Netfirms.

1&1 is giving free .com's for the first year

Netfirms is giving .com's for $3.99 for the first year.

Can you give me a recommendation between the two or should I go for other companies.

    NOOO, don't go with 1&1...
I have 70 domain names there and it's terrible to flip domain names!
Since then, I'm with Godaddy.com or Name.com. No way I would buy a single domain on 1&1 again!!!

1&1 like to tie you into contracts. The free domain most likely comes with a 24 month contract for hosting. Consider Godaddy, as buywiser said.

if you are buying just 1 domain, Netfirms is good, they also have free privacy. and only 3.99

Otherwise, go with godaddy, there s a coupon code for 6.89$ domains ,, good luck!

I prefer namecheap.com or name.com for domain registrations.

Make sure you are aware about transfer or renewal fees. That can be much more higher.

Do not go for free domain, it is risky !

Better pay $10 dollar to some registrar like godaddy and purchase your domain. You have full control over it.
