Hi all DP members, I'm interested how many DP members use netbooks, notebookd and how meny members use desktop. What about me, I use desktop both at workplace and home.
Netbooks are cheaper, smaller ( 8" - 12" screen ) usually running Intel Atom processor and no CD/DVD drives.
While I do have a high end desktop for gaming and video editing, most of my work is done from a netbook (hp mini 1000). I just switched from notebook to netbook though - I've always been tempted by them, and since most of my work is writing when my current laptop hinge broke I needed a quick and cheap replacement.
I just recently brought a laptop and then realized that it is too bulky to carry around, regretting not buying netbook. Although it would be painful for you to work on netbooks for long, not recommended.
i have a desktop and for mobile computing i have netbook - acer aspire one 10" screen size... at present i am online on that only - its handy
I think it is a very compact version of Laptops and it is very easy to have in hands.I never had a netbook but now I'm gonna buy a netbook or a small laptop.
I've got all 4 (I'll include PDAs and I'm buying a netbook for travelling), but nothing beats a good old desktop, unless, of course, you're on the move...
Desktop is great for IM business and gaming because it still has more space, room for better specs and overall more reliable and stable than a laptop or notebook. The only real advantage a laptop has is mobility so yeah.. only if you need it i guess.
