.net isn't really worth that much, but if its like a good name like a 3 letter or a 4 letter domain that makes sense, that i guess go for it. COM is always better than NET in my opinion.

IMO .net is the second best one of them all.

To my knowledge .coms are not given any more weight then .net in search engines. If you're lookng for long term business then I would say .net is just fine. I have a number of .nets I want to develop.

.net is recognized by the general public, so I wouldn't hesitate to register it.

.net is 2nd best .org 3rd.

But both are really far away from .com in terms of prices. Somewhere around 7-8 times less. But if you want a domain and develop it to a site or something. It doesn't matter much. Search engines take it all the same. Sometimes .com will get a few more vistors just by type ins, but generally for the majority of domains registered it doesn't matter.

If you want to develop it extension doesn't makes much difference, but if you're buying it for reselling .net extension will lower the value, but that doesn't mean you can't sell it profit. If the name is good, you can make profit doesn't matter whether it is .net or .org.

.net is the 2nd best extention, worth about 10% of a .com, if the .com is valueable, then got the .net

i think they're both good. it's true .coms are more spread, but a .net would definetely be a great pick for you.

this may seem simple, but if ur domain name starts with an N...may be .net would be easier to remember...if u plan on keeping it for the long term and developing it.

Get it! Unless you have media advertising who cares anyway. It is only a rumor that Google lists dot coms higher. If anything they should rank .net higher because that is what all of our sites (most of us) should be. Originally com was meant for businesses that also had commercial brick and mortar stores. Net was for networking (community sites), org organizations etc

But now they are finding you on the search engine and marking you in their favorites. com is always best, but really for easy (VERY EASY) to remember domains. The engines will find you just fine with good content!
