Let's say you can choose from history-books.com and historybooks.net.
Which one would you choose? I know google prefers .com but does having a "-" hold any relevance?
    Thanx

having a "-" doesn't affect relevance, but it's pretty annoying to type in.
a .net can rank as good as a .com in my point of view.

But history-books.com looks cooler than historybooks.com/.net

    Blaugrana1,

I'd go with the .net and no hyphen, I'd only use a hyphen when you have 3 or more words in the domain name. Just my preference.

i'd go for .com still even if it has "-" :D
.com extension is pretty easy to remember for most people.
