.NET or .ORG?

What do you guys think? Which one is better?

I'm going to set up a new blog and have found a nice name for it, but the .COM is already taken, so now my choice is either .NET or .ORG. Personally, I think I should go with .net, as .org might sound like my site is a website of an organization and that isn't - it will be a personal blog.

This depends on what your targeted niche is. Why not get both .net, and .org? The .ORG TLD has no restrictions.

net is better than org.
cause I can buy them with only 4.95$ from estdomains.

 

Generally speaking, I prefer .net over .org.

 

After a .com, definately .net is the 2nd option, foget about the .org IMO.

i'd say buy them both, use the extension which sounds better with name and then redirect the other one to it.

personally, i prefer .org in general over .net for markets that make sense. I generally would find another .com before buying a .net though

 

Certainly .net, because it's nicer, and it's more suitable for personal blog then .org one, and I think it's also more valuable then .org.

If i was you, i will register .org too and forward it to .net

 

I would have thought of another name and went for the dot com.

 

.net for sure in my opinion, but consider that if someone tries to remember your site and think it was a .com (everybody thinks to .coms as first option) you're sending free traffic to the guy that owns the .com

maybe getting another domain but .com might be better, specially for a blog where you want people to come back to read
