Not really. If it is more of a network than an information site, chose the .net one and vice versa. It really doesn't matter though.

Is it curcial that you use the name you are thinking about? Getting a .Com domain is almost always better. You this way wont have to worry about losing traffic to the .Com owner if your website is searched for in the future.

    Good luck buddy.

the .com is up for deletion, but when I check the records it says it has been renewed. IS there a definite source for me to check if the domain name is renewed?

I would actually go with the .info - I think the .info will become more used than .net.

Info is the abbreviation for the word to describe "information" in over 16 languages, its much more understood than .net is in non-english speaking languages.

Dont know of any definite source. If you really want the domain, why dont you contact the owner to know for a fact?

    Best of luck.

yeah depends what you wan't really. If its an information small content site, the name will probably be long so go with the .info, a big time game site etc go with .net. All about preference.

I dont think it really matters ..what matters more is how you promote and work on your site . I prefer .info over .net though I also use .net for some .

Personally I'd go for the .info unless the domain name is really incompatible with the TLD.

I say register both - if you debating the issue, just spend the extra $8 and save yourself present and future hassle. Do it right the first time.
