None is better or more superior than the other. Both domains have equal weight in the eyes of Google. It doesn't favor specific domain extensions.

They're the same for SEO, though almost all web savvy people will opt for a .com over a .net.

For me, I see .net domains being purchased because the .com was not available or the purchase price was too high. I will take a .com over a .net any day.

They're both great, I usually always go with .com though since they're more widely known and accepted. You never hear your friends talking about .net extensions, do you? It's always .com so I'd stick with them for that reason alone unless organic traffic is all you're setting your sights on and then both have the same SEO benefits when compared to an extension such as .info - which you never see ranked very high in competetive niches.

It all depends on what you plan to do with your site. i have a .org and do tenfold in sales over similar .com i have yes .com is the best to get, but only if you comparing same exact .com name vs. .net if you think .net has a better site name then go for it, and get into gear to constantly work your site - develop new pages often, optimize content to make sure its unique and relevant to what you are doing, and you will quickly see that .net will be just as relevant as any other extension

if you do nothing with your site, or employ shady SEO techniques, whether you have.com or anything else would not matter - you will be in a junk bin regardless, but use sound practices and you can make any .xyz site a major success google places a LOT of emphasis on sites age and relevancy as well as content - and very little emphasis on extension
