I just learnt what net neutrality is, and i am all for it! Why should the broadband providers decide what we can and can't see?

How do you guys feel about it?

Few days back, there was a thread discussing about this topic in the GC section.
Net should be without barriers and users have a say on what can be seen and what not? :)

According to Google, network neutrality is the principle that Internet users should be in control of what content they view and what applications they use on the Internet. The Internet has operated according to this neutrality principle since its earliest days... Fundamentally, net neutrality is about equal access to the Internet. In our view, the broadband carriers should not be permitted to use their market power to discriminate against competing applications or content. Just as telephone companies are not permitted to tell consumers who they can call or what they can say, broadband carriers should not be allowed to use their market power to control activity online.

I fully agree with this, and believe it is outrageous that huge companies have the fate of the internet in their hands! People must stand up, and fight for their right to a neutral internet before it is too late. I believe many people just sit there thinking "this will never happen", but I assure you with that attitude it will. So please people, we have to do something about this. Informing people about this is the first step, but then all of us actually have to act.

Yes, moral policing is not at all acceptable. But, ISPs are not to blame, as the buck stops with our stupid governments.

(.xxx TLDs for adult websites would be a great idea, so if someone does not want to see those HOT :-x models, they can keep their faces away!)

Net neutrality is one of the fundamental rights for internetusers. If they wan't to narrow this neutrality the whole internetcommunity should stand up and defend itself

    That's my opinion

ISP's are turning into communist pigs lately. First major flaw was Comcast throttling p2p links on it's network, now we got ISPs trying to get rid of net neutrality and force us to see what they want us to see even though we pay them for the internet.

    I support Net Neutrality!
