.net .com .org How do you go about creating a different extension?

    Hey,

I'm still new to this forum so I thought I'd ask some questions that have been on my mind... that question being," how do you create a domain extension?"

I know its possible, but I don't know how to go about it or where to go for it. Or what that extension is properly called. I don't think it's extension ... there was a site called TK that I used about 10 years ago for my old music site, and they offered domains via them exclusively.

Does anyone know how to go about creating or purchasing the actual extension?
    Thanks guys,
    Ubatr

You become a big multi-national tech company and then hire a few lawyers and consults to help you out. See, it's not too complicated. Good luck! :)

I think it would be much easier to become a new ICANN accredited domain registrar than create a new top-level domain :)

Haha. Dude its not possible for a single person or common person to build up its own top level domain. You must fulfill all legal obligations for this purpose and its not possible for everyone to spent its money for that purpose. :D
