This is a superb article about the dangers faced by having terrorists like Bush and Cheney in such a position of power, it is fully backed up with lots of links and is a bit of a read (meaning that all of the members of the DP "crazy gang" will not read it.)

    Article Here.

It's a superb article and well worth reading.

Also if this doesn't scare our DP PC Rambos then I have no idea what will:

    Sunburn Link.

Will the crazy neocons sacrifice a large amount of the Fifth Fleet to further their agenda? My guess is yes, they would.

Is this another of you're false flag predictions, yet again. Your others didn't materialize except in your head, what makes this one any different?

Keep playing the lotto your numbers may just come up one day;)

It doesn't matter if his predictions come true, only that we stay vigilant about false flags. They happen, and have cost millions of lives.

I read a book called The Comet of Nostradamus which basically predicts that such a thing would happen. Of course I don't believe it but I wouldn't be surprised if someone who had read it believed it and writes articles like the one posted to verify their paranoid delusions. Either way what if scenarios belong in comic books.

It's a very real possibility if Bush, Cheney and the rest of the crazy corrupt neocon fools get their way.

Did you actually read the article through?

I did actually read them both. I can see the possibility of a major naval strike in the Gulf but I don't think its probable and as far as Sunburns go I wouldn't be surprised if our navy actually did have something nasty to counteract that, the kind of thing we wouldn't talk about until we had to.

The book I read was this guy using Nostradamus quotes to predict some internal strife in Turkey leading to a militant Islamic nation there, war in Babylon (Iraq) and eventually a WW3 where the first strikes are in the Persian Gulf by Iran's navy, these three nations along with some eastern europe countries I am not familiar with create some sort of Axis. Its actually a pretty good read but its a lot like any other prophecy type book and full of strange verses being connected somewhat haphazardly to current news and then turned into a doom and gloom future prediction. Think it was published in 2004 probably 1$ on amazon.

I will quote one of the Quatrains here because it is pretty interesting and a little creapy.
The religion of the name of the seas will triumph over the sect of the son of Adaluncatif: the obstinant lamented sect will be fearful of the two wounded by Aleph and Aleph.
The guy who wrote it thinks the religion of the seas is Catholicism something about in latin the word for sea is really close to Pontiff and Adaluncatif is a de lune calif or the Caliph of the Moon IE Islam.

There is your dose of weirdness for the thread :D

    Thanks for that. :D

The basic bottom line is that if there is some more neocon insanity out in the region from Bush, Cheney and the rest of the crackpots it is doomed to end in disaster, and the Fifth Fleet will bear the brunt of it.

But that's OK, they are only numbers to the people that control the MISERABLE FAILURE Bush.

As long as they get what they want it makes no difference how many people die.

In a war you take losses. The US lost ten carriers in WW2. The Japanese had their own version of 'cruise missile' called a kamikaze.

Aircraft Carriers (CVL), and 77 Escort Aircraft Carriers (CVE). Losses were as follows:

    CVs Lost Four (4): CV-2 Lexington CV-5 Yorktown CV-7 Wasp CV-8 Hornet

CVLs Lost One (1): CVL-23 Princeton

CVEs Lost Five (5): CVE-21 Block Island CVE-56 Liscome Bay CVE-63 Midway CVE-73 Gambier Bay CVe-95 Bismarck Sea

Thus a total of ten (10) aircraft carriers of all types were lost. Note the Navy's first aircraft carrier Langley was also lost but was considered a seaplane tender at the time being redesignated AV-3.

That is an extraordinarily alarming article on so many levels.

On an initial basis Congress and the public should be made aware of the status of the US navy versus potential shore to ship missles. It is a potentially current and long range issue.

It touches on the issues that a big military faces...as has been the case in Iraq, with so called asymetric weapons used to effectively battle the US capabilities (IED's) The US has and continues to struggle to overcome the widespread use of IED's.

The description of the Soviet/Russian effort to counter US naval size and superiority via using anti-ship missles makes lots of sense from their perspective and if these capabilities have grown and improved it is a clear danger.

Secondly, is the fear of where the Bush administration and its neocon leaders are going with their perspectives and the ability of those in the know/military leaders to counter the perspectives of the neocons.

Many people within the administration of the first President Bush counciled against attacking Iraq. One of them was Cheney back in 1994.

Clearly all those lessons and wisdom were ignored. Secondly, its been the case repeatedly that the Bush administration has a short and abrupt response to disagreements within the government against the neocon perspective. People get fired or threatened with being fired.

Its critical that the Pentagon stand up to the worst instincts of the neocons.

Its rewarding to know that Gates is the head of the Pentagon. Hopefully there are stronger people, and people internally that can stand up to the Bush/Cheney perspective.

I am concerned about the threats from Iran. Simply Iran has sponsored anti Western terrorism for close to 30 years. Iran supported the killing of approximately 300 American and French soldiers in Lebanon back in 1983/1984 and has continued on this path for virtually 25 years since then. Adding a nuclear capability to an ongoing support of fundamentalist anti-western terrorists and augmenting that ability through the amazing increase in the price of oil makes Iran a more dangerous nation.

Its simply that the radical neocon leadership has been amazingly inept, immune to wisdom of others, and has established itself in a position of power and authority that borders on dicatorship.

    Its a very scary revolation.

Those articles were copied from one propaganda site to another. I certainly don't support Bush and his cronies, but I don't care for the attempted scare mongering of those sites mentioned.

As a former US Navy person myself whom has more than the usual share of familiarity with our weapons systems and our potential enemy, I'm not very concerned. From the public's perspective most of the systems do not live up to the hype, on our side or theirs.

Just as others countries have evolved in both technology and tactics, so has the US. There are no guarantees that we would get away without losses, but I highly doubt Iran could realistically defeat any carrier battlegroup.

You are spooned fed by the so called independent media in a so called democratic country. What they don't tell you is that Iranians are just nice people like us and in the past 50 yrs US government FOOKED THEM, this stuff is silent in American media. Nothing to get mad at Iranians...Just enlighten yourself with history, not just one written in English. You can read another language or speak a couple, I find them more interesting.

ps: In my experience, most shocking stuff said here on DP are from people who never left their bird's nest and only speak one language and they tend to claim they know the world. I speak 3 languages, Mandarin, Spanish and English and I have good perspective of the world.:D

It's pretty true. A lot of people think that Iranian anti-Americanism started when the embassy workers were kidnapped, however it started when the CIA helped overthrow Mossadeqh (Time Magazine's man of the year), an elected leader, and installed the Shah, who was as bad as Saddam Hussein.

Of course, this stuff is usually hidden in intellectually driven history books, and Wikipedia.

It's like the Bay of Tonkin. I would bet most Americans do not know that it was a false flag that propelled us into Vietnam.
