So all the doom and gloom recently about negative seo, I was sent a tweet from a friend of mine who told me that I have to read this site: http://www.negativeseo.pro Well worth a read. Quite funny and accurate. Just hope that more people who are thinking of using such under hand tactics read that site.

The article just gives the bad guys a guilt trip, but of course the bad guys are thinking of themselves, and of course business is a form of war, so they won't be deterred at all.

Any underhanded and black hat tactics will just catch up with you. What workes today may not work tomorrowe after Google's next round of updates. It's best to be ethical and focus on long term results.

So you suggest here that we should use these techniques for making bad at the competition ? I don't agree with you, for making your business running you don't need to kill the others you just have to be better then the others

I am not saying that you should use these. For one thing, if you were caught you could get a hefty lawsuit.

    What I meant was:
Take a look at all the evil e-mail spammers. They know they are doing wrong, sending millions of e-mails
out hoping that a few would be ignorant enough to buy their product (or even add a virus to their computer).
I have a co-worker that is that ignorant and is always getting into trouble. They do it because it works,
if no-one responded to spam they would stop. In the same way, people will use negative SEO on you,
they don't care what is right or wrong. I do care what is right or wrong, but writing articles telling people
they are evil won't stop them from doing evil things.

RosuC - If you read what it said on that site, you would understand that no one is suggesting that.

This is funny.... I was curious to know what they had shared towards negative seo. However, once we start reading it, we realize that they never do negative seo, but trying to spread the message against negative seo...
    Its good and sarcastic though!!!
Mean time, you can go through an article that talks about how to defend negative seo activities...

Exactly, everybody is doing it. That's how google got where they are now. They just bought any competition that challenged them. All the biggest corporations are killing their competition. Either buy them or destroy them. So if a poor average Joe is trying to make the same thing it's suddenly wrong thing to do :) I am smelling double standards here. No surprise, whole world today is full of double standards. Even Google has strict webmaster guidelines for us, on the other side they do everything for profit without any rules.

This is possible because of Google. If something can be exploited. People will do it.

Listen, if my competitors bought me out I'd love it. If they use negative SEO to try to destroy me I'd hate it. Can you tell the ethical difference here? Fuzzy thinking is also evil.

That's obvious to you and me, yet many don't see it.

Well, there is no way if your competitor is doing negative SEO, you also have to do it to survive.......and you should watch what Google is able to do, to detect negative SEO.

We should send that site to Google. Although its funny and has a serious point to make, we should not be in a situation where such site owners are fighting a phenomena which is created by Google's own rules. Well don't to the site owners. Hope they get the exposure they deserve. I for one have tweeted it to all my friends in the industry.
