Hello to all Forum Members. I am little bit confused about my new keyword list. It will be only for content network. I promote web hosting packages. I want my ads to appear at sites with phrases for example - "cheap web hosting" or just "web hosting" but dont want to appear for sites with content that is about 'free video web hosting' so I add negative keywords: -free -video But then my ads probobly wouldnt appear at sites with text like: 'let us tell you about best web hosting where you can store videos' because of "-video" -and that will be bad, because these ppl could be really interested in huge packages which I do promote. Or maybe I am wrong? Thanks in advance for your help.
Add "free video" as a negative keyword, then that long search term that you mention will trigger your ad. Add the whole search terms that you want to avoid as negative keywords, not just individual keywords.
Do searches for your keywords. If you see something you think is not relevant, make it a negative keyword.
i am not sure, i read that -free video will block both words free and video -"free video" will block only phrases like free pics and video webhosting am i correct?
no, you do not need the quotes. negative keywords are their own match type. You do not need quotes or brackets. -free video will work for broad, phrase and exact match types.
