Negative Keyword problem...

Anyone have broad negative keywords that they use and still show up for searches that you shouldn't?

For example, say you have TV as a negative broad keyword but the search query "TV shows" still displays your ad.

I am trying to figure out if it is something I am doing wrong or if there is something wrong with Google.

    Thanks!

If some one is searching for your broad term but it contain your negative keyword then your ad will not get displayed.

If you have tv as a negative and it's showing for tv shows, there's something wrong.

Don't forget you can also add phrase and exact negative so if there's a specific phrase you'd like to exclude then add this as well. I use the Search Query Performance report in AdWords to continually update my keyword and negative keyword lists.

Are you using TV as a negative keyword in Exact match like [tv]?

Yes this phenomenon has happened to me on some occasions, maybe a blip? I can't really explain it so I have resorted to adding different phrase matching for the keyword.

From what I have heard is if you have positive keywords that are broad match, that it can negate negative keywords in some cases.

TV was a negative broad match keyword.
