Can we leave negative iTrader feedback for those who reply to our topics such as in the sales saying they are going to buy something from us and make us waste our time and they never PM us back? The least they could do is reply to the thread or at least email the seller back and say they aren't interested anymore rather then not doing anything and wasting our time. I believe saying " I'll take it for this price, PM me" is the first part of the deal that they have started themselves.
itrader is only for feedback after transactions. If they/you didn't initiate a transaction and they simply wasted your time, use reputation instead.
how does that work? Can they leave me negative REP as revenge or whatever even though I'm not the one who did anything wrong?
Well isn't there some rule about that? has to be something to say they can't abuse the stuff here to get back... i used to hate that about ebay.
The only rule related to Reputation is that you are not allowed to sign it with someone else's name. Besides that, Mad4 is spot on. Anyone can rep you for any reason they feel like. There are technical limitations that prevents abuse so don't worry about that.
If you goto a real live auction and someone bids $100k on something and they don't plan on going through with it, they can be sued and fined. there should be the same thing here. When someone says "i'll take it for this much pm me" etc. That should be the first part of the contract and they should be held to it. If everyone started doing that nothing would work anymore in the selling forums here. There should be a way to protect sellers and buyers against people who are just playing around and don't actually intend on doing business at all.
This is a forum, not an official market place. Hence we have forum rules, not marketplace rules. If members are concerned about the way business is being conducted here they are free to take it somewhere else. We won't add rules we can't or won't enforce.
Who do you propose is going to hold them to it? If somebody pulls out of a sale the person who would be enforcing the rules would have to take a statement from both parties and make a decision about how to proceed. Its impossible to make somebody pay if they don't want to.
Reply to their post and explain what happened. People usually check post history for users they're doing transactions with so that would be pretty much the same as a negative iTrader feedback.
These people reply to mine. I know you can't make them pay but there should be some sort of way to warn others before taking their offers and bids seriously. Maybe i didn't accept other offers because i thought this person was going to follow through with theirs? it causes alot of problems and alot of people do come here to list domains and other services for sell.
